Pay it forward

So this is a post about thanks and gratitude. To you guys. Every single one of you.

I don’t want to go all mushy but I have been so ridiculously lucky to have met and worked with so many crazy wonderful people. I often get asked what’s the most amazing wedding I have ever shot, and yes I do get to see some pretty wonderful things BUT it is always, always ALWAYS about the people. And basically you rock my little world in so many ways.

Things have been a bit turbulent in the winter months this year. Normally a time to bed down and regroup my thoughts and processes, home life has been a little bit hectic for a number of reasons, most recently my hubby having a short stint in hospital and an operation (he is recouping on the sofa with a cuppa as I type this so worry not : )

I have been overwhelmed by peoples understanding and offers of help and I really want to be able to do something back by way of saying a very big thank you to everyone.

So as a small way to be able to pay it forward, I’ll be doing a shoot day in May (most likely Sunday 14th but date to be confirmed yet) where I will be offering free shoots to anyone I have worked with before. Couples/family/portrait on your own whatever you fancy, I will shoot it and give you a whole heap of lovely photos back for free and a beautiful A3 print of your favourite picture from the session.

The shoot will be at my place (I can bombard you with tea/homebrew/cake that way). There are some gorgeous locations near to where I live (Coalbrookdale in the Ironbridge Gorge) and I am also just finishing building my tiny home studio too (pictured below) if the weather is unkind and we need some indoor space).

So if you are up for it, just drop me an email at mail@haywoodjonesphotography.com and lets get plan making. I for one cant wait : )

I’m feeling ready to adventure into 2017 now, bring it on baby! Shaking off the winter dust and ready to feel the sun on my face, who’s coming with me?! : )

Love to you all

Vintage Life Magazine Feature

So I am very lucky and have more photos in Vintage Life Magazine this month, but it is for something a little different! My little girls room is featured in there along with all the vintage junk I have been accumulating for her : ) I am a massive fan of all things vintage and our house is full of measures  and junk from through out the eras! It is lovely eseing her room in there, it is one of my favourite rooms in the house and one I spend a lot of time in too. Go grab a copy from WHSmiths and have a nosey. It is always a good read.

Family Time

So the crazy wedding summer has started and we are full swing in the thick of it AND WE BLOODY LOVE IT!!! But…. we have still managed to find a few days to take our first trip as a little family away in our vintage airstream caravan. This was our first outing properly in the caravan after buying last summer and John renovating it over the winter months. I never thought I would be the kind of person to say I love owning a caravan but blooming heck, she is a beautiful creature!

The small one is growing at an alarming rate and I’m suddenly aware I haven’t been taking many photos of her lately. Work has been busy and time at home the cameras have been packed away. I need to remedy this. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and breathe. Soak it up with your eyeballs, beam at the wonderful things you have and feel that thump thump of the ones you love.

Vintage Life Magazine Feature

peeps! Go get your hands on a copy of the latest issue of Vintage Life Magazine. You can see the utterly wonderful and ever so gorgeous Maria and Dan and their beautiful DIY vintage wedding day. These guys were so, so much fun to hang out with and their day was full of laughter from start to finish. Think I might just be a little bit in love with them both : )

Welcome to the world Seren Angharad Scout

So…… this year eh?? It has been a bit of a busy one. One filled already with a million adventures, large and small, lots of laughter, quite a few tears and not enough sleep.

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged anything since last year but I’m hoping you will be gentle on me and understand it has been a bit of a crazy ride around here lately!

More to come soon I promise, but in the meantime, I’d love you to wave and say a little hello to Seren Angharad Scout, our little girl that had an eventful entry into the world in mid January. Life hasn’t quite been the same since and actually I couldn’t be more grateful for it.

Chan & Joe - Hitched at Spinney Hollow

Chan and Joe. What a couple. What a day.
A heart felt and intimate woodland ceremony followed by a hula hooping, all singing all dancing party in the pub! Not a bad combination if you ask me : ) These two gorgeous people couldn’t have made us feel any more welcome at their big day, they have an amazingly wonderful set of family and friends. We had such a good time shooting them and really can’t thank them enough.
